| On Thursday, June 9, 2011, Fire Fighter Nicholas Kehoss was joined by a standing-room only crowd that consisted of dozens of fellow fire fighters, family members, friends, and Rotary Club Members to award him as the 2011 recipient of the Grove Award. Fire Fighter Kehoss was bestowed this honor by the Officers and Members of the Cheshire Fire Department in recognition of his tireless dedication to the Cheshire Fire Department.
The Grove Award is the most prestigious award within the Cheshire Fire Department and was created in honor of Cheshire Fire Fighter William Grove, who is the only Cheshire Fire Fighter to ever lose his life in the line of duty. The award is now present annually with the support and assistance of the Cheshire Rotary Club.
