At approximately 11:06 the Cheshire Fire Department was dispatched to 461 West Main Street for a fire in the kitchen of a pizza shop. Approximately 1 minute later a Deputy Fire Marshal arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the structure. 3 minutes after being dispatched Engine 4 and Truck 1 arrived. Firefighters forced entry, stretched hose lines, cut vent holes on the roof, and extinguished the fire. In total 25 firefighters responded in addition to an engine company from the Town of Southington. Firefighters chased the stubborn fire in void spaces. It took crews 1 hour and 23 minutes to bring the fire under control. |
