Firefighters demonstrated the use of high expansion foam on a car fire at the 1979 open house. Today's car fires are fought much differently. Firefighters are in full protective gear, including a self contained breathing apparatus. We rarely use foam on car fires these days. If we do use foam, we use a PFA free foam that's not harmful to humans or the environment.
