It was over a year ago that Frank Loehmann, President of the John G. Martin Foundation, approached Cheshire Fire Chief Jack Casner and asked if he would be interested in a new sign for the Fire Headquarters at 250 Maple Avenue. Casner’s immediate response was “Of course we would be!” Over the course of many months, it was decided that the sign would be designed to look like “Old New England”, complete with solid New Hampshire granite pillars. The multi-color sign was constructed of composite material and installed by CT Signcraft. The project was recently completed with the help of the Cheshire Public Works Department and local vendors. Loehmann commented, “It’s beautiful, a wonderful project and one that the Foundation is very happy and proud that its contribution to the Department helped make happen. It has been a pleasure working with those involved, especially Chief Casner”.
