Busy Night on Interstate 84

On Monday evening, February 25, 2013; Cheshire Fire Fighters were called out to Interstate 84 for two separate vehicle collisions.
The first incident occurred at 7:47 PM for a multi-vehicle collision with injuries. Fire Fighters arrived on the scene within minutes and worked to assist State Police and Campion Ambulance.
As Fire Fighters were clearing from the first scene at 8:25 PM, a second incident occurred near Exit 27 and I-691. Fire Fighters responded to that location for a vehicle rollover with an occupant trapped and in need of extrication.
Cheshire Fire Fighters arrived on location within seconds and found a white SUV had rolled several times and had one occupant trapped inside.
Fire Fighters immediately went to work using hydraulic rescue tools to remove the occupant of an SUV. Fire Fighters from E6, E2, and R1 were able to quickly remove the occupant of the SUV for transport to the hospital by Campion Ambulance.
The Connecticut State Police is investigating both collisions.
