New Truck 1 Update

The new Truck 1 being built by Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton (WI) is now in its 5th week of construction. This week, the cab was mated to the chassis and the painting of the body was completed. The truck is still on schedule to be completed in early April. Additional photos updates will be added each week.
This week, the cab was mated to the chassis and the sub-structure for the front bumper was added. Note, the pressurized water extinguisher mount that will be recessed in the front bumper.

The rear crew section of the cab is mostly complete.
This is a first look at the massive torque box, which supports the aerial ladder and houses the outrigger jacks for the vehicle.
Rear of the torque box. A full compliment of portable ground ladders will be stored inside the torque box and accessible from the rear of the truck.
The cradle for the aerial was also installed this week. The cradle provides a resting support for the aerial ladder when it is not in use.
This is the large transverse compartment that will be located immediately behind the crew cab of the truck. This compartment will be outfitted shortly with 2 sliding shelves, a tool box, and storage holders for a stokes basket and little giant ladder.
The body of the vehicle has been painted and is in the process of having roll up doors, shelving, and electrical accessories installed.
